Farewell 2021, hello 2022! A slowly awakening environmental awareness, discovery and appreciation of our immediate surroundings and a more hopeful political agenda on the international scene gives me hope what’s coming, and that underlines what decisions we make as a civilization in the coming years is crucial to our common future here on the amazing planet earth. If you want to do just one thing to really make a difference, go green!
On a personal level, I have started off some new adventures.
I’ve done one-fourth of the Sea Captain training at the Marine Educational Institution, it’s been really challenging and a lot of fun.
My 2nd solo album CoExist (listen here)was released on 2 September, written together with the talented Kaj Pousar, (whom without it wouldn’t have happened) and the multi-power man Samuel Waermo who also produced and it’s mixed by the amazing Stefan Glauman! And guess what!! I received messages from fans around the world that the vinyls finally arrived! Mine hasn’t but I’m waiting…
The recordings You of all people and On my watch with my new fantastic band Cloud Cirkus, a gathering of some of my favourite musicians Johan, Jarmo, Mathias and Martin, has been introduced to you and there’s a whole album coming from this camp 2022! We actually did 4 sold-out shows in Dalhalla this year with Rhapsody in rock.
I’ve done the first show in Jönköping with Ulf Wadenbrant and his amazing symphonic world, a promising and more to come cooperation. We also managed to do the full show period of 15 shows in Gothenburg with great friends.
Our work on the board of Artists for the environment is developing and we will continue to provide training for artists to spread knowledge towards a sustainable future. And I’m so happy for the many people who have become aware and begun to engage in the fight to put environmental issues in the spotlight!
Thankfully I and my loved ones had a great summer on our new fantastic sailing vessel Scatcat II.
Follow my journey into the new and musically thrilling 2022. And remember: No-one knows what the future will bring and we have a part in drawing the map, this is exciting and a privilege, one planet, one love, one life! And hey… We’re still here, let’s do this together!
Until very soon, dear friends and allies, raise a glass and salute!!!
Jakob
