TO BE A MUSICIAN
From the age of 13 the goal was set and then I stayed on that course. It was a natural choice since both my brothers and my mother are musicians.
INFLUENCE
Ohh there are so many… But artists like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses has obviously meant the world to me as a performer and musician but also guys like Peter Gabriel, Sting, Fleetwood Mac, Billie Joel, Elton John, and Supertramp to mention a few have influenced me a lot as a writer and singer. I’m also a big fan of classical music and jazz.
DRUMS AND A MIKE
That was a sliding development but when I first made the change to actually step up was 1991 working with Pete Blakk from King Diamond on the Totem project, which was a fantastic one, but then I did a couple of tours as a drummer with Talisman in 1992-1993 to finally go full-time singing starting up Jekyll & Hyde in 1994. I still play drums on recordings and sometimes live and really enjoy it.
FAVOURITE RECORDING
It’s like choosing between your kids, not possible, they mean so much individually and in different ways. The album I most frequently listen to as a whole is Pastpresent though.
NEW TECHNOLOGY
I listen mostly on iTunes or Spotify, because in Sweden it’s very hard to get the hard copy of anything. I think it’s a natural development, but we need to sort the financial compensation for the writers and artists, long way to go there…
SAILING
I always loved the seaside and I had been working so hard between 2006-2009 and was on my way to the studio and walking the streets I realized I needed a hobby like anyone else and in my mind sailing must be the perfect way for complementation. You spend the days outdoor in the most beautiful environment possible and have both action and relaxation depending on the weather. And you can do it together with the ones you love.
